A Little Help Goes a Long Way.

“Everybody eats” has been part of Bonafried from the beginning, but during COVID it took on a more tangible form with the Straw Hat Special, a pay-it-forward meal program created to support food-insecure and unhoused neighbors.

Guests can help cover the cost of a meal for someone who needs one, and Bonafried takes care of the rest.

  • Streetcar: Canal Streetcar, City Park / Museum terminus, about a half mile walk

  • Streetcar, Cemeteries branch: exit at North Lopez and Canal Street, 0.95 mile walk down North Lopez

  • Bus: RTA Route 91 Jackson-Esplanade, stops about 50 feet away

  • French Quarter: under two miles, and a pleasant walk

  • Parking: Street parking is tight on the block. Mind posted signs and do not park in the lot next door, in driveways, or in loading zones.. Plenty of parking around Walter “Wolfman” Washington Park across Esplanade.
